Two Kingdoms

I believe that the enemy has made it one of his main agendas to convince believers that there is a ”middle ground“ when it comes to the things of the spirit. It is a malicious attack! It starts as a small seed — small lies that tell us we will be “fine” or that things aren’t that serious (apathy), other lies that God will save us in the end or grace will cover us (taking the Lord’s name in vain), and many others.

In reality, the true and harsh reality — there are two kings. Two kingdoms. One kingdom is dreadfully enslaving and spiritually murdering those that belong to it. The other kingdom is full of people who know their Father and live a life of fullness with Him.

This reality is truly as intense as it sounds. All people must choose. We must decide which kingdom we would like to belong to.

I’ve been a Christian for a little over 13 years at this point. I kept wondering why God was making this point with me this year. It seemed like something I should “know” but he reiterated it to me over and over again.

Simultaneously I have been walking through the most dependence on God that I have ever experienced when it comes to my finances. It has truly been one of the most liberating and terrifying experiences of my life. God provides for me in every way. He does the same for all of His children but for me in this season it has been very intense and intentional.

I realized pretty quickly that I had an intense desire to fit in with others and to feel safe and comfortable. My desire to feel this way continually interrupted, delayed, and distracted me from what God was asking me to do. It has taken me this long to start an album project that has been brewing for YEARS because of this very thing.

It would be ”easier“ for me to lean on my own understanding and to make money in the practical way that is accepted in Society. It would be ”easier” for me to do what others expect from me. Except, I belong to Jesus. And when I am in His family and His kingdom, the sacrifices of today are seeds for tomorrow’s harvest.

When you belong to Jesus, He sets the pace. He sets the rules. You come alive inside.

Scripture tells us that we can not serve two masters. There is only one or the other. There is NO middle ground. We belong to Jesus or we belong to satan.

More specifically Jesus talks about this when it comes to money in Matthew 5:24. We can’t serve God and money. I can’t lead worship for money. I can get paid. But it’s not for the money. I can’t live my life to make money. My life is for the glory of God. Which also means that I can’t worry about money. As RAFI put it in the Handlebar Podcast (link below) — worrying about money in the kingdom of God is ILLEGAL.

There are laws in God’s kingdom just like any other and the law of His land is to live dependent on Him, leaning on His understanding, and trusting His provision over his life. I mean come on it’s his PRO - VISION, ultra stellar vision over your life!

Today, let’s live according to life and testimony of Jesus. Let’s cast aside worry and fear and live in the Kingdom of God where we belong.

He WILL provide. He WILL make a way. He’s NEVER failed. You won’t be the first case. I can guarantee it.

Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy, to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.
